Building Bridges of Hope

Save Our Sons & Daughters SC is a community‑centered nonprofit dedicated to protecting, uplifting, and empowering young people and the families who love them. The heart of our mission begins with one mother, one son, and one moment that changed everything.

 

Tessa Spencer has spent her career as a trusted daytime and evening anchor for ABC NEWS 4 and a vibrant voice families across South Carolina welcome into their homes, but behind the microphone and cameras, she carried a pain no parent should ever have to face.

Her son, Julian —  bright eyed, compassionate, creative, and deeply loving ray of light — lost his life to suicide. His passing shattered Tessa’s world and revealed a truth she could no longer ignore: too many young people are struggling in silence, and too many families don’t know where to turn.  Tessa decided to turn her pain into purpose and made a promise — one that became the foundation of this organization. She vowed that Julian’s story would not end in tragedy. It would become a catalyst for change, connection, and hope  for the youth and families of South Carolina.

Save Our Sons & Daughters SC exists because of Julian. His life and loss fuel our mission to support youth through mentorship, mental health awareness, community engagement, and early intervention. Every workshop, every conversation, every resource we provide is built on the belief that no child should feel alone and no parent should feel helpless. We work to create spaces where young people feel seen, heard, and valued — where families can access guidance, where communities can learn to recognize the signs, and where hope is not just a word but a practice. Julian’s legacy lives in every life we touch, every story we uplift, and every promise we keep.

 

This is more than an organization. It is a movement born from love, shaped by loss, and driven by the unwavering commitment to protect the futures of our sons and daughters.
